On June 29, 2000, Century Bank of Bartow County opened for business, becoming the second state-chartered bank headquartered in Bartow County and ushering in a new era of community banking. The organizing directors felt that Bartow County was in need of a new, independent community bank, an institution owned and managed by directors and officers with roots firmly planted locally. With the new millennium approaching, a name for the new bank quickly emerged: Century Bank of Bartow County. While "Century" symbolizes a new bank for the new century, "Bartow County" emphasizes focus and dedication to the surrounding community.
In August 2006 Century Bank of Bartow County changed its name to Century Bank of Georgia to reflect the larger service footprint the bank envisioned. Soon thereafter, the first non-Bartow County office opened in Calhoun, Georgia in March 2007, with its permanent banking facility unveiled in January 2009 at 415 West Belmont Drive (Highway 53). Continuing its growth plan as a strong, stable and secure financial institution, Century Bank of Georgia purchased and assumed deposits of Community Bank of Rockmart headquartered in Rockmart, Georgia in November 2011. The Purchase and Assumption Agreement with the FDIC allowed Century Bank of Georgia to expand its service locations to three counties in Northwest Georgia.
The bank's senior management team is comprised of Rick Drews, CEO; David Caswell, President/COO; and Rhonda Massengill, CFO. Using a wealth of banking experience and an extensive knowledge of the bank's target market, they continually strive to lead the bank with the vision of the original organizers while maintaining Century Bank of Georgia as a true community bank. As a result of their efforts, Century Bank provides prompt and local decisions, offers comprehensive financial resources to small business owners and entrepreneurs, and makes available the most convenient, high-quality banking products and services to its clients. Its directors, officers and staff share a commitment to offer their time and resources to the communities in which Century Bank serves, thus solidifying its long-standing reputation as an institution truly dedicated to serving those within its reach.
